Spokane — This event will feature 35 wines from across the world, along with hor d’oeuvres, a silent auction and live music by Nicole Lewis Quartet. Spokane Valley — Support Team “Fight Like a Gril, Heaven Can Wait” as they embark on a 60-mile walk from Sept. 12-14 for the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. Their goal is to raise more than $24,000 for the cause of fighting breast cancer. Breakfast will be at Applebee’s and includes pancakes, eggs and juice or coffee. There will also be a carwash next door to help raise money as well. Applebee’s is located at 12217 E. Mission Ave. Cost is $8 per person.
Airway Heights — Come and join in the fun at the largest polo benefit West of the Mississippi! The Cobra Roofing Polo Classic benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Spokane. This event is a fun and exciting way to support a great cause! Gates open at 11am, in which you will enjoy wine, appetizers, art walk, silent auction, live music and strolling violinists. The event will kick off at 12:30pm with skydivers and a luncheon buffet. The International Polo Event will begin at 1:40pm. Hope — In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Memorial Community Center, there will be a barbecue at the beautifully remodeled Beyond Hope Resort. The event will include complimentary appetizers, margarita and wine bars, as well as a barbecue dinner catered by Elissa Robbins of Beyond Hope Resort. There will also be dancing to the music of DJ Rhythm Machine, along with live and silent auctions. Tickets are $35 each. Coeur d’Alene — Join the celebration of art, creativity and friendship at the 40th Annual Art on the Green! This annual event one of the highlights of the summer, with a marketplace, performance space and a gathering place for friends and families. Held at the Old Fort Sherman Grounds on the North Idaho College Campus near downtown. With more than 135 artists, a variety fo performers and more than 500 volunteers come together to present Art on the Green for more than 50,000 people to enjoy. Find glass, clay, leather, wood, metal and fiber handcrafted artist creations. Children and adults can also create their own art! Enjoy a variety of foods, both old favorites and new additions.
Art on the Green is an arts and crafts outdoor festival sponsored by Citizens Council for the Arts, a non-profit corporation of interested volunteers formed to encourage and promote the arts.
Five Sandpoint chefs working with Food Bank volunteers have organized the Food Bank Harvest Ball scheduled for October 11, 2008 at the new Ponderay Events Center behind Sandpoint Furniture. This culinary experience will feature an eclectic menu prepared by chefs from Ivano’s, Three Glasses, The Idaho Club, Peerless Catering and Pend Oreille Pasta. Wine will be contributed by Dave Vermeer, beer from MickDuff’s Brewing Company with food donations from Food Services of America. A cash bar will precede the event and dancing will be to the music of Carl Rey and the Blues Gators.
